a new facet of my practice is emerging through photography, which for now centers on portraiture and field work. my current project, miami from the corner of my eye, functions as both archive and observation—recording the city’s relentless transformation while trying to grasp the atmosphere that slips between documentation and feeling.

miami from the corner of my eye

“miami from the corner of my eye” is an ongoing photographic project that meditates on miami’s disorienting, ecstatic, and isolating contradictions—what I see as the city’s unique crisis of modernity. rather than chasing spectacle or narrative climax, the work captures mood: the suspended tension between desiccation and overdevelopment, abandonment and reinvention.

created through long dérives—daylong, aimless drifts across the city’s landscapes—i document miami from below: its architectural decay, sun-bleached verticalities, and unresolved futures. these photographic fragments are assembled into an installation that evokes a city moving rhizomatically, not linearly—growing out in unpredictable directions, fueled by overlapping migrations and cultural memories.
